freeze 2015 then New Years Eve

We had a storm hit with freezing ice which turned off our electricity for 3 days.  It first went off at the farm then came back on so Shawn, Sherry along with her parents Bill and Denise came over to the house  while at our house their electricity went back off causing a big problem as their only way into their house was the garage door.  They ended up having to stay the night at our house until it came back on the next day.  Then our electricity went off the next day so Dennis went to the farm and got the generator to run our electricity  for 3 days by back feeding it into the house.  Luckily I had bought us a gas stove to cook and we had a gas fireplace so only really needed it to have television as he would turn it off at night.  No real complaints here.  on the 29th our old friend from Ecuador Alfredo Araujo and his grandson Brian came to visit.  I tried to tell them we had NO elec but they did not care.   We put them up in a hotel for 2 nights then were able to bring out travel trailer for them to sleep in as we had Jennifer and Duston coming to our house for New Years Eve along with Shannon and Steve.  Problem was we did not have propane in the tanks for the trailer so for the first night they about froze to death.  Fun and games.

WE then had a great New Years Eve with family and old friends here to celebrate.  I am sure Alfredo enjoyed the trip.  Lots of great food and we played games including dirty santa.

One main thing Alfredo wanted was to go to Tulsa and see HP office there so right after new years I drove them up to Tulsa to see the office then Dennis took us to lunch.  I had planned to take them to see the big McDonalds but Jen, Duston, Matt and Brian were going to see an NBA game..  We had to rush back to OKC where we had supper at Toby Keith’s restaurant and dropped them off at the game.  The kids left their pickup at the restaurant.  Brian had a great time experiencing the watching the game.

I had misunderstood when they were returning to Ecuador and was hoping to take them to Dallas and drive them all over.  Maybe next time.
